    Brembo Brake Details

    Hi all,

Hoping someone could confirm what is a bit of a newbie question please?

Its time to change the brake pads on my Legnum which has the Brembo Upgrade all round. I just wanted to check if I'm buying Pads which Evo did the Brembos come off please ? Am I right thinking the Brake Discs and Pads were from a Evo V, VI ??

If so does anyone have a suggestion of best place to purchase pads. Looking for a good deal although not looking to cheap out

Any help would be great as although had the car a while and love driving it just havent got round to learning much about it?

    Many thanks in advance

Pretty sure the pads and discs for evos are the same from 5-9 possibly 10 aswell but not sure. No idea what model my brembos came off but i order 5-9 pads and discs and so far had no dramas.

5 to 9 evos have the same brakes so you can use any combination come for them, I just fitted bog standard and really cheap (£30) pagid pads to mine as previous set last really long (+-30k) and behave good even on short track sessions.

i can vouch for a set of pagid pads for about £30 from ebay. they work well and will last fair while.
and for £30 you can change the every year as a consumable part, the take about 30min to change the front, and that includes finding you jack, jacking it up, getting the wheels off fitting them and putting it all back togerther.

but you do get what you pay for when you buy brake parts.

    Bye for Now!

As above, any Evo from 5 to 9. If you get a choice, it is 4 pot caliper for the front and 2 pot caliper for the rear. Evo 4's used the same discs and pads as a stock VR4, 2 pot front and 1 pot rear, but you could get the evo 5 onwards with the smaller brakes so some parts places show those as suitable fitment for Evo 5 onwards.

Brembo pads have 'ears' with holes to feed pins through, bottom row, middle picture shows front brembo pads.

I get mine from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2309321642...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

They all fit by looks of it...

You just have to choose the brand you want/trust/guess might be decent quality...

That makes two of us, I went for Pagid disks and pads last year. I didn't know I could get them from Euro Car Parts, although that was probably me being an idiot and not knowing the size or what Evo the Brembos came off. I'm glad I just read your thread to have everything confirmed above.

I've since made the VR4 squirm under braking a few times stopping from license losing speeds(Much fun). They're waring well and have zero Brembo squeal so I'm happy.
I do wonder just how good some of the eye wateringly expensive brake components must be though if the Pagid's are this good.

    Hi All,

Car has been in for MOT and apparently it's failed but to brake shudder so want to look at fitting new discs and pads. Anyone got links to decent brake and pad combos for the Brembo setups. Anything on offer or seem good value for money recently??

    Thanks

Good price bundle at £249.99 for all four discs, grooved and coated, and Brembo pads. Have had this very kit on the RVR.

Great performance option would be plain discs, e.g. these (front and back), combined with Carbotech XP-8 Pads (get them from Carbotech direct). But you have to like dust and/or cleaning! And the pads are pricey.
