Oh ok, I had no idea! Thanks for the advice guys

While spring was here I took the chance to grab a few pics with some cherry blossoms in the back ground too.

Some info on my new radiator that might be helpful to someone. Finally ditched the cheap chinese radiator which leaked and I was never happy with and installed a Greddy Evo 6 one. Lots more options for evo radiators than VR4s! I chose to go with a CP9A type rather than CT9A as the top pipe is away from the manifold rather than above it.

Fitting: drivers side lower mount - relocate (some welding needed)
drivers side upper mount - change to evo cp9a type
passenger side lower mount - no change
passenger side upper mount - use same mount, drill a new hole
lower radiator hose - no change
upper radiator hose - use stock hose (cant use GReddy alloy pipe anymore but the radiator has a fitting for the temp sensor at the top near the upper hose)
    SPAL radiator fans
HKS fan controller (fans were working but spinning slowly, so this remedied that)
    new coolant lines

    Top job Aaron.
Looks like you followed my steps, I did use CT9A radiator though, and like you relocated lower driver mount. PITA job with cutting and welding.
Radiators from earlier Evo 4-6 (CP9A) and later Evo 79 (CT9A) differ only by upper hose location. Mounts are in the same location, so in both options some metal work is needed.
But that will open quite many options from wide Evo market. I use now Koyo alloy-copper thin core (copper) radiator. Stunning finish and fits like a glove.
    Ex: Galant VR4
Running 268 HP ATW and 443 Nm torque at 0.9 bar
    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300
Running 325 HP ATW and 510 Nm torque at 1.6 bar

Yeah I read your posts and decided to let a shop do it with the cutting and welding involved , and it had to be there for legal inspection/ other maintenance anyway. I thought about getting the Koyo VR4 one as I could drop it straight in myself but at least this way if I ever need to change radiators again it will be easy and will have a lot more options.

Do you see many legnums on the road, are they still about, or are quite rare now?

I hardly ever see them on the road, I guess most of them have been exported already or gone to the scrapyard

I guess if you were to see them still it would be in the Nagoya area, not too far from Okazaki.
Still amazed that they are still in use.
