Hi all,
I have decided to take the plunge and purchase a hot Japanese Wagon. I am still choosing between the VR4, Nissan Stagea and Subaru Legacy but am veering towards the Legnum at the moment. :-)

Obviously, we like the Legnum! But they all have their plus points.
Biggest difference is that we definitely have the friendliest forum

Welcome along Neil. What kind of project car are you after?? I have 3 Legnums, 1 of which I will be keeping and getting back on the road. 1 that needs some gearbox investigation but this may just be speed sensors (I am investigating as we speak) and the engine in that one may need a new headgasket but as yet confirmed. The third is actually my dads and doesnt need a great deal of work at all, it starts and drives but has 1 or 2 diagnostic codes that need sorting. None are major, I believe they are only traction control issues and are down to fairly cheap solenoids.
We may have something to fit your needs depending on how much of a project and what type of project you wish to undertake.
Welcome.
Having owned two Legnums and a Stagea, my view is if you are looking for a car that you can easily tune and modify for big numbers, go Stagea. If you want something that turns heads and gives you great out of the box performance, go Legnum.
As a daily car, as long as they are looked after, both Legnum and Stagea are similar in how they run, similar performance numbers, similar efficiency. But the RB engine is much more tuneable!
The Legacy doesnt really do much for me to be honest.

Hey Neil
I hope you're enjoying the choosing part.
If you can, try and drive a good standard car of each of your choices and then let the heart rule your head, or your head rule your heart if your feeling sensible/responsible/boring/smart.
Deep pockets required for all three of your choices so buyer beware.
I think rust will be the decision maker regarding the Legnum.
Good luck finding a good clean car whichever you choose.
