    Time for a rebuild

    Hey Mitzi lovers,

It has been a long time since I posted a thread, so bear with me. After five long arduous years of keeping my vr4 on the road I have finally decided to give my car to my old man to work on.

It was a hard decision, but the payoffs are grand, my old man has come into position of a full workshop and professional car spray booth. The car is being shipped to Hastings and I will fly from Auckland once a month to work on the car.

I am keen to hear your thoughts on what to do to him next once you have seen the photos of his current state.

7g you don't get many of thoughs on this site.
Is that a 3000 gto engine?
    Is it a transplant.
Looks like it has been looked after very well in the passed.

Be interested to see what you do with it.

Certainly looks like one. Should fly as they've got massive torque. Our 3000GT always felt much quicker than the VR4 although both ran 280BHP.

    Will follow this with interest.

IIRC the 7g had a 6A12TT fitted that way round.

I love a build thread so also looking forward to watching the progress!

    I don't think it is a mivec.

Yes, this car does get a lot of strange looks, especially when I open the bonnet. I got the car in 2006, it was imported to wellington in 2000.
It came with all original paperwork, and I am the second NZ owner since it has arrived.
Trust me the motor is original, it is a 6A12TT, it also came with 4 wheel steering and adjustable suspension ( from factory )
Although the car was in a worse state believe it or not S6300725.jpg

Wow you could eat your dinner off that Engine it’s so clean! Did you restore the entire engine? Could you send me some info on what process you used? This is what I have in mind when I rip my engine out for a rebuild
