    common rust prone areas?

proud new owner of a 1999 legnum vr4 with 165xxx km that I am planning on operating throughout the canadian winter. Our winters are very hard on cars because we spray the roads with calcium carbonate and salt, aka rust soup. what are the common rust trouble zones on these cars so i can give them extra attention. I'm aware of the strut tower rot, is there anything else I should be mindful of? thanks for your input.

The front strut tops are the nightmare as there are multiple layers of steel so the rot is not visible until it is too late.
The rear arches are also bad, followed by the floor, especially near the sills and the rear. The AYC pump and its tray suffer too.
After that it's general. Folded door seams, front slam panel, leading edge of bonnet etc.

Rear subframe mounting points can rust out and the worst thing is that you can't see it happening.

Above the gas tank, the brake line can rust.
If so, you have to lower the rear subframe to replace.
At same time you can apply rust prevention on the subframe.
Check also the frame of the rear doors on the upper-rear corner under the door rubbers.
