    Link G4+ (ViPEC) Engine ECU

    Hi all,

    I am going to be buying a Link G4+ ECU from Eurospec

    They are currently listed on their website for supply, installation and mapping for £1599 - I have been given a Supply-only cost of £999

    This does not include Inlet Air Temperature sensor - price to follow for this.

    0000339_mitsubishi_galant_vr4_vipec_pnp_ecu.jpeg

    Free yourself from the constraints of the factory ECU. The Link G4+ Plug-In fits discretely inside the original enclosure. Installation is a breeze with no alteration of the factory wiring loom required. A built-in connector (or pins in some models) provides additional inputs and outputs such as oil pressure inputs or anti-lag / logging switches (the number available depends on the application)

    Includes integrated 4 bar map sensor

    G4+ PlugIn Key Features (where applicable)

    • Up to 6D fuel and ignition mapping
    • Precision closed loop cam control (four cam, independent control)
    • Sequential fuel delivery Digital triggering, all OEM patterns
    • OEM idle hardware supported 5D boost control with three switchable tables
    • Motorsport features – antilag, launch, flat shift
    • Continuous barometric correction (on board)
    • CAN port
    • QuickTune – automated fuel tuning
    • Individual cylinder correction
    • USB tuning cable included
    • Stats recording into on-board memory
    • Gear compensations for spark, boost and fuel
    • Real time selectable dual fuel, ignition and boost maps
    • Sync and crank sensors can be a combination of Hall effect, variable reluctance or optical
    • Boost control referenced to gear, speed or throttle position
    • Up to 32Mbit internal logging memory
    • Staged injection Knock with “windowing”

    What advantages will this give over a standard ECU?

    * Faster CPU inside so it can react faster = slightly more HP
    * Has the same anti-lag / launch control / no-lift-to-shift as ours (facelift/plastic-cased only) but also supports ignition cut (rather than fuel cut) so you get even louder pops / bangs / boost before launch
    * Closed loop full load (WOT) means more accurate fuelling when under load
    * Also has additional outputs so you can add things like automatic NOS / intercooler spray / shift light / anything a relay can switch
    * Potential (we're investigating) to swap in Evo X throttle body to give drive-by-wire / fly-by-wire support which means better economy, cruise control and rally-style overrun anti-lag

    Still awaiting further details, but there is the possibility of a bit of a discount for buying a few - so if anyone else is interested in upgrading their ECU, then please let me know and I can see what discount I can secure.

    There is a possibility for splitting payment over 4 months if paid by debit card if you are also buying more stuff - but it will increase cost by 9%

    Timescale for this is pretty short - I'm looking to order this week!

    Please work on the basis of the costs above - and any bulk-buy discount I can secure being a bonus - and please let me know if you are serious, and willing to commit this week.

    List of people interested/confirmed are:

    @Confused - Supply Only - No IAT - PAID
    @foxdie - Supply Only - IAT - PAID
    @chris_dono - Supply Only - IAT - PAID
    @pritpal17 - Supply Only - IAT - PAID
    Amesh (x2) - Supply Only - IAT - PAID
    @Colin Wiltshire - Supply Only - IAT - PAID

    That's 7 ECUs and 7 confirmed and 7 paid!

    Updated first post with the following changed information following a call that @foxdie had with Ben:

    • Interest free credit isn't really interest free - it's on the table if you're buying more stuff. He can offer it as 4x monthly payments of 25% of the balance against a debit card only but it'll increase the cost of that unit by 9%
    • The IAT is not included in the deal but he can supply them and will price us some up

    Is the supply only cost (£999) a one off offer or is it that price all the time?

    @pritpal17 it's a one-off offer. It will require minor modifications to your vehicle and tuning, but we can handle that.

    Probably make a garage day out of it

    Guys, please check Indigo-GT website. Quite recently they had the same ecu for 959 GBP (inc. VAT) plus some discount if MLR member (speak with Ant at Indigo). They do monthly payments plans as well.
    Ex: Galant VR4
    Running 268 HP ATW and 443 Nm torque at 0.9 bar
    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300
    Running 325 HP ATW and 510 Nm torque at 1.6 bar

    Ben modifies them specifically for the VR-4 - we know the mods he's made to a ViPEC, but not the Link, and he will also warranty the changes, whereas if we buy the Evo one and modify it ourselves, we will potentially lose any warranty.

    What Confused / Garry said

    It did cross my mind to buy them that cheap and modify them, but it's a lot to be uninsured against.

    Hi all,

    We've managed to secure a very good price from Ben for these units. Please PM me directly for pricing.

    So far we have 7 people on board. If we can get 10 or more, we'll get an even further discount!

    Also please note;

    * 0% finance is now available WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES
    * You will still need a intake air temp sensor to use this - we expect this to be around £30
    * If you take finance, you need to pay up by 22nd Jan (finance takes 1 week to organise)
    * If you are buying outright, you need to pay up by 29th Jan
    * The ECU order will be placed by Eurospec on the 31st Jan at the latest
