    Larger Throttle Body

Looking for advice on fitting a larger throttle body. I currently have a 60mm one fitted which I transferred over from my old FTO engine. I have a 64mm one in the garage from a VR4 and looking to fit that instead if it gives any benefits. I know I'll have to mill the plenum to match the throttle body and use a suitable gasket.

Does anybody have any experience with the larger throttle body, did it affect throttle response, etc.?

Currently working through some performance modifications to make things more efficient and want to get everything done before taking it for a tune up. I've currently made the intakes to the turbos better and fitted bigger filters. I'm fitting baffles into the end tank of the intercooler to spread the flow across the whole of it and modifying the front bumper and ducting so the air is forced through the intercooler rather than escaping around the sides. Then going to have 2.5" downpipes + 3" exhaust system fitted and maybe raise the boost a couple more psi.

It was part of the prefacelift 260ps to facelift 280ps change. I'm not convinced it makes a marked difference but if you can do it then why not?

It was also a manual vs auto thing as well as i have both plenums and the manual one was the smaller size over the larger auto one. Ive just gone even bigger with my build.

Yep, since I have one I'll install it and see how I get on. Can always swap back to the 60mm if need be, once the plenum inlet is bored out it will take either.

    Cheers

You need to use the larger throttle body gasket for the larger throttle body.
The larger throttle body does not have any traction control vacuum connections that are used on the pfl with traction control.

Well this is what I think the situation is.

All done. I had a spare gasket so I used a dremel to shape that to the correct size then used a die grinder to do the same to the plenum.

Took it for a spin last night and all was good. Must say I prefer the throttle response compared to the smaller one so it was worth doing
