Hey guys I have been looking for a workshop manual for the 6a12tt vr4 for a long time but never had any luck, I have found manuals for the non turbo version but that isn’t what I’m after, can anyone help me ? or any knowledge anyone has about the 6a12tt would be greatly appreciated

The members library includes the Japanese language workshop manual which includes the 6A12 - I don't know if this is to enough depth for a full rebuild, however. @Davezj is rebuilding a 6a13 right now - worth looking at his threads to see if the members section manuals have been enough for his build.

The engine manual you are looking for is the 6a13tt which is the vr4 2.5L V6 24v twin turbo.
The 6a12 is the 2L V6 24v fto engine with mivec heads
I don't believe it ever came as turbocharged engine.
There is also a 6a13 normally asparated version of the 2.5L V6 24v engine.
There is a engine manual available in English for the 6a12 and 6a13 engines. There is a big difference between and engine manual and the cut down basic engine section in the UK spec galant manual. You can't do an engine build from the UK spec galant manual.
The engine manuals from mitsubishi come as a supplement.

Oh by the way I have not found the correct engine manual for the 6a13tt.

You can gather enough information on the specs for pistons, cylinder bores, crank journals, big end journals, oil pump clearances, etc.
From the 6a12 6a13 engine manual.

    Hey Davejz
Cheers for the info , I’ll have a look at what you suggested,

Although I think you may be getting muddled up a bit, there is a big difference between the 6a12tt and the 6a13tt engines although in the engine bay they look very similar, and are both twin turbo. There is also a 6a12 naturally aspirated 2L v6 Most of the 6a13tt specs will be incorrect for me as one is a 2L and the other is 2.5L , also the 6a12tt is a quad cam , not sure about the 13

Also to clarify there were several versions of the 6a12 , yes one was mivec but mine is not, also I’m positive my engine does not have mivec heads. there was a certain type of vr4 that was released in Europe that wasn’t twin turbo like mine with a 6a12 of some sort.

    So unfortunately I need a 6a12tt engine manual not a 6a13tt one

    just pointing out the differences

Yeah, sorry Dave (zj) the 6A12TT does exist, I have seen one.

As Dave(zj) says, there are many manuals in our members library including a 6Axx manual but specific TT info is missing. As the 6A12TT was even less common than the 6A13TT I suspect you might struggle.

I could be wrong but I suspect Rich is talking about the 8th gen VR4 manual that jpnz translated.

Ok so I made a little progress, I got my hands on a manual that covers the E52,53,54,55,64,74, and e84 models , it’s a Jpnz manual that’s converted over from the Japanese original, it’s not very specific but has some nice service data in case anyone is interested

Yea thanks mate , I’m well aware what a workshop manual is because I’m the one who started this topic asking if anyone had one, to be honest you said the 6a12tt didn’t even exist and now your telling me what i already know, also I’m not sure about your area but in New Zealand even the basic manual is not that easy to come by, I still had to go looking for a hard copy, sorry if I sound rude but you haven’t been very helpful apart from stating the obvious
