Engine Light triggering TCL to be disabled

Howdy y'all.

Relatively new Legnum Owner here rocking a '98 VR4 auto for just over a year now and falling in love with it by the day!

I have recently come across a random issue which I cannot diagnose nor trigger on demand.

This only seems to happen once the engine has warmed up or ran within the past 15-60mins.

The Engine light comes on, TCL off light comes on and the engine does not run smoothly and with a very low idle. Gear changes become very rough where they wouldn't be normally.

After a short while of driving, there is almost a jolt where the car then runs smooth removing the engine light however the TCL light remains on and cannot be switched off manually.

I've trawled through the threads and tried some MAF cleaner as an initial guess but I'm now stuck on what it could be/what to try next.

Any thoughts or previous experience on this would be amazing.

i have been having the same problem and found its was the TPS

Cel and tcl coming on together are often a vacuum leak in the small bore pipes between the throttle body and the bulkhead or a breakdown of the solenoids that the pipes go to.
There are other options too but those are likely.
