    Any info is good info plz

    Hi clubbers, plz if anyone can help me, I have a 98 galant,vr4 twin turbo, 5 speed manual, I have just put in a brand new hd clutch in,I've come to the end and it seems that it won't go into 2nd 4th or reverse, it's been up on blocks and when I try putting it in 2nd 4th and reverse the hubs spin but won't go in to gear,any help plz anyone, it's been doing my head in for awhile and it's my 1St vr4

    This sounds like a selector 'gate' or cable issue. Only the downwards movement of the gear lever inside the car is affected. I know its a pain in the arse but remove all the air intake and boost pipework from under the bonnet and just make sure you have everything routed correctly and there are no instructions to the selectors on top of the gearbox. As there is quite alot going on down there.
    This is where i would start before thinking the worst.

    I'd agree with Dave.
    Also, nearly the same problem and symptoms:
    There are a couple of u shaped brackets above the gearbox that the cables clip on to. They have a rubber layer bonded between that can come unbonded. This allows the bracket to move with the cable preventing gear selection. Bolting them together through the rubber sorts this if needed.
