    Coolant Additives

Hi guys, has anyone used the product 'Water wetter' in their cooling system to control a cooler running engine temperature.
I've read as much as a 20'c temperature different can be achieved by adding a small amount?
I think ive become obsessed with lowering temperatures

    Sounds snake oil to me.

The temperature is controlled by the opening of the thermostat to the radiator. The flow through the radiator cools the coolant. If the coolant cools enough the thermostat will close down again.

If your coolant temperatures are running away then you have a problem. I've seen it on track but never off track with a healthy car. My feeling is that large intercoolers disrupt radiator air flow and the oil temps spiral on track. So for me the answer is wise intercooler selection and an engine oil cooler to control oil temps.

I have already fitted an oil cooler and intercooler, please see attached digital pictures/ link below.

Hav'nt had engine temperatures spiralling out of control but i am thinking the oil cooler might me a little on the small side as after a spirited run my oil pressure drops damaticly on idle to about 12-13psi at a oil temperature of 105'c
Have thought about electric fan on oil cooler?

With 6a13tt engines you will see quite a high oil temp. Trashing on a track or motorway will get you easily up to 110C degree hence quality of used oil is so important. For oil cooler you can get quad bike radiator fan, will do the job. A least did in my vr4. As for coolant you can use low temp thermostat. Anyway no magic solution, just common sense.
