    Momo steering wheels?

Quick question - was the Momo Mitsubishi steering wheel a UK option added on by Ralliart or was it supplied with cars from the domestic market too?

I have the option to buy / put one on my car - but also recently just bought a wood / leather mix one so wanted to check what I should have / is the best!

    Cheers

Thanks Peter (and thanks for the strut brace which arrived this week - yet to have a chance to unpack it!)

Anyone with a MoMo think it is better than the Mitsu one or just stick with what I have?

I think the Momo feels better, but the mitsu one fits the cars appearance better.

I prefer the Momo over the Nardi, especially the I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Wood Nardi wheel.

It feels better in the hand, as the rim is slightly thicker, and it's a slightly smaller diameter too if I remember correctly. I'd like to get mine recovered, and the rim made even thicker to make it feel even better in the hand.

The wooden Nardi wheel feels horrible IMO, the wooden section is solid and has no give, and is too slim.

I despise momo wheels in general, so this is not my kind of question.

    Silly little airbag-less things.
I've been enough regular street crashes to appreciate a good airbag, hah!

Glad you got your answer though, to each their own.

The Momo wheel in question here is an airbag-equipped one as supplied by Mitsubishi on some of the UKDM Galants, and, I believe, available as an option on facelift VR-4s.

Here is one on a facelift VR-4 Type-S:

October 2023 fleet status: 100% operational

    | Legnum VR-4S | Fiat Panda 100HP !! | a blue one! | Avensis T-180 | VR-4 parts van! |

Yep. Recaro optioned facelift VR4s got that shape momo wheel. And UK spec sport models, both 2.0 and 2.5.

And some Evo models - I think mine originally came from an Evo 6.

Oh wow, didn't know there actually are MOMO wheels with airbags!

I'll definitely have a think on getting one. Although I like the aesthetics of the original Mitsu one.

The other option was the Nardi on the VR4. There isn't much to choose between them imo. The normal Mitsubishi wheel on other models (and maybe the type V?) was not so good.
