Just thought I’d let you all know Its all back together now and started straight up which is a hell of a weight lifted as was seriously worried I noticed the back cams didn’t line up when I put under tension which I had to adjust but thought was a lil strange as all were locked off from before taking old cambelt off but all is good I havent taken it for a spin yet as still got bits to do cam cover gaskets and painted bits up to put on!
Omg the thermostat was a right pain in butt aswel literally no room to get bottom bolt! Let’s say it was a very slow process!
Just wanted to say thanks to you all for your input and guides it was really helpful

You have to make sure the cambelt has no slack in the side furthest from the tensioner. The back cam is also a pain as its right on a point where it will ping around, this can cause it to slip a tooth or two.

Glad you got it all back together. Its a satisfying feeling considereing the amount of stuff that has to come apart to get at it in the first place.

    Yeah it is definitely satisfying!
And good to have peace of mind about it all!
Thought I’d do cam covers today which actually frustrated me more than the cam belt and the gasket kept falling out as soon as I knocked it especially the spark plug ones! but I persevered and is now done with a few swear words chucked at it! It was only the back one as was so tight to get it in! Front one took like 10 mins!
