    Arp head studs torque

    Evening all,

Getting around to rebuilding the 6a13tt ready for the FTO.

Have fitted the ARP head studs and nuts just wanting to double check what people have torqued these up to? Did you go with the
    20nm + 90* + 90* OR 20nm + 120* + 120*

    Thank you.

follow ARP recommended torque setting but ensure you use the torque lube arp supply with the studs.

ignore the factory troque setting with a angle plus angle, that is for stretch bolt.
the whole point of the ARP head studs is you do them up tighter and apply more clamping force.

go to the arp website to make sure you have the latest info but you will find something like this below which tells you how much torque to use for the given diameter of the stud and the material the stud is made from.
but you do them up in stages it does not really matter what the stages are as long as they are roughly even and equal at each stage.

so for a 10mm stud made from 8740 alloy you would use a final torque 62 ft/lb.
    so stages of tightening for me would be 20 ft/lb, 40 ft/lb, 62 ft/lb.
