I always like to check the reason one needs a replacement AYC pump - is it not providing enough pressure?

It's the number one issue with AYC pumps, but can be easily and inexpensively resolved, usually for many years, by fitting an adjustable pressure switch. If so, Malc @MPBVr4 is your man - he must have supplied hundreds of these now!

I'm *still* waiting for my pump to need one after more than 12 years ownership! Perhaps that's testament to using Amsoil ATF in it for all that time. Mind you, the facelift may need one at some point, I guess!

There's a set of codes in this post: https://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showth...s-complete-set

You only need to short pins 1 and 4 on the OBD-II connector near the driver's knee, using a short piece of wire or a paperclip. This is a representation of the connector:

What flashing lights did you get? If no codes stored at all, then the various lights should have been flashing constantly about once per second.

Flashy dash works with the ignition on, doesn't matter whether the engine is running or not. You should definitely be seeing flashing lights!

What are you using to bridge the pins? Is it making good contact? Sorry to push the 'user error' side of things, but it's not really a known thing to fail! I was on a course near the university in Coventry at the beginning of the week - I would have been happy to pop round and have a look too had I have realised how close I was. I'll try to take a pic or two of the connector in mine over the weekend, with the bridging wire in, in case that helps with orientation. You should have about five lights flashing for sure, codes or not!

make sure you are looking at the connector the right way up. it might be narrow at the top and wide and the bottom or wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. i can never remember which way round it is.

    Bye for Now!
