That's really sad news. Lets hope the dealer network can continue with another brand.

To be honest, I'm not really surprised. I rarely see any Mitsubishi's on the road, only those Outlander PHEV things. They've not really had any competitive cars for years to sway the middle and upper ends of the market, and they're not a cheaper brand to sway the lower end of the market.

It's obviously going to hit the dealers who are focused on Mitsubishi, especially the independents who don't have the big investment behind them to pivot the workforce and premises to satisfy an alternative brand from their stable, and let's hope that not too many people lose jobs because of it.

Whats get me the most it we lose, I mean they has been useless anyway, main dealers, in case of service, such a basic maintenance parts almost always require 10-14 'special' order time frame, which for 'normal' car user is a killer, yes of course, WE hard die bread, can source parts from other sources but average Jon will just give up and move somewhere else.

Again with used car marked, average car user do not touch Mitsu brand with a barge after this news is widespread, kind of what happen to Saab not long ago, so its two sides of the story, maybe eventually I can afford to buy evo, and/or mitsi become fanatics/enthusiast only vehicle, which makes them desirable?? I don't think so.

I think we need to enjoy what we got and stick to this as they made brilliant vehicles, just with very poor steel.

I would absolutely love an Evo 4-6 but they are going for silly money now. Even an early 3000GT/GTO would suit me to scratch the boyhood hero itch. Alas, the latter is approaching 30 years old and good examples hold their value quite well too.

I skim the usual online car ad places for facelift Galant VR4 saloons in good Nick, they too don’t appear often.

Pity Mitsubishi have lost their way from the mid 2000s of making decent sports cars. It doesn’t help that European tastes go for German stuff with nice veneer but crap underneath.

Saab started to get a bit suss with the 9-3 and 9-5, it just didn’t quite reach the exceptional perceived quality of their predecessors. I wouldn’t go near the later 9-5 because it looks like **** and the parts support must be pretty unpredictable. I fear our cars will struggle for good value parts supply once the dealer stock dwindles.

Sad news but as you folks have said the brand has gone downhill in recent years.

I can’t see good Evos dropping in price. My X cost a fortune to run, I spent just under 10k in repairs and upgrades in a year or so of ownership. After I sold it the new owner had major bills when things started to go pop. ~500 bhp from a 2.0 4 pot is never going to be that reliable in the long run I guess.

I’ve had a 2008 Saab 9-3 estate for nearly 2 years now. It’s my ‘sensible’ car whilst I recover from several years of expensive cars on finance. Would quite like a Legnum VR4 but clean ones are going for strong money these days.
