Timing belt spacer , Anyone seen one of these before?

    Hi guys,
came accross this and i dont have one of these fitted to my engine and i never seen one fitted to a 6A13TT engine.

    Timing belt spacer

I am hoping this is an error in the online parts catalogue for our 6a13TT engine.

I think i have found the answer, to the question.

the toothed wheel that passes through the crank sensor and causes a signal to be registered is pegged to the back of the crank timing pulley with spring steel dowels and the spacer is attached to the back of the toothed wheel on the end of the pegs/dowls that stick out of the back. hence the 2 holes in the spacer as you can see in the picture.
so when you remove the timing pulley from the crank you actually removing 3 item that are fixed together with dowels.

this information was brought to by a Club VR4 knowledge base contributor, Ash cox.

    I am happy now.
