    Dohc Valve Lifter Removal Tool

I know they are only £30 on eBay but I thought I'd post up in case anyone on here wants to move there's on and at least get something for it?

    Cheers

Blimey they have gone up in price.
They used to less than £10 delivered.
They are just a 3mm or so sheet of steel cut out shape.
I could draw one up and start selling them for £10 with a heat shrink or plasti dip handle.

Not that I going to by the way.

    Bye for Now!

Actually one of the early posts I found about the tool here has the template for the tool already there (and now attached to this post)

I don't have the resources to make one myself, but if anyone else does...

and video from the same post of the tool in action https://youtu.be/2GnPt_xK3-g

I'm gearing up to do lifters on mine as well in the near future and as the shape of the tool is rather simple, I'll probably make one. Has anyone here actually made one and if so, what thickness? I've seen them at 1.6 and 2mm on eBay and Dave suggested 3mm?

Couldn't decide what else to do with my Friday so ended up making the tool myself using a scrap TV stand. Just to say, I'm fortunate enough to have a spare engine to use for testing and practicing. The steel plate was 3mm thick to start with but after cutting out the shape, I discovered that space is at premium and I had to shave the end down to around 2mm. Tested it on the second cam from the front (of the car) and it works spot on, not so well on the first cam though so still room for improvement I suppose.

I have one of the tools, the worst ones foul against the spark wells and other casing bits while trying to fit into position or out again. i think the rear bank, 3rd along from right exhaust side was the absolute worst to get at. works basically decently tho. a good grip is essential!
