    Driveshaft/ inner c/v joint supplier

So i suspect that my inner cv joint (drivers side) maybe shot, as there's a bad vibration on acceleration (2.5v6 galant manual 2002), but i can't find any driveshafts or inner joints on ebay etc. Does anyone know if there's other cars that use the same joint or if the joint can be stripped and the internal bearings sourced and replaced? Surely i don't have to scrap my car just because the driveshaft is shot? Cheers.

The OEM part number is MR399371 or MN171196. These are the same on LH and RH. There appears to be a compatible item made by Febest, part number 0411EA.

I have also heard of people swapping the inner joint from side-to-side, as this puts the worn section in a different place, and you can gain a bit of extra life that way.

The OEM part numbers for full driveshafts for your car will be MN156277 (LH) and MN156278 (RH). Can't see a full shaft replacement listed, but again Febest seem to do an outer joint, 0410033A43.

Hope this helps you keep your car on the road!

Plus one for swapping the cups. Unless you plan to accelerate hard in reverse this should be a good and very cheap solution.

Here is a top tip for you guys that are doing some maintenance on these joints.

They need a special grease due to the needle bearings. (inner) Mitsubishi Is only selling the gease as a set with Booth and clamps for almost €100,- per side.

If you just want the grease only, Subaru is selling the grease separate
for diff side joint (NKG302) Subaru partnumber 28495AE010 (160 grams)
for wheel side joint (NTTG2218) partnumber Subaru Part Number: 28395AG030

I paid €17,- for a bottle of grease

well i have gone with the suggestions in this thread and the other drive shaft thread below, and ordered an inner joint and an outer CV joint from febest.
buy the way the inner joint on the front is the same both sides and it has a male stubby splined shaft sticking out from the joint.

    https://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showth...riveshaft-woes

hopfully they will turn up soon and i can rebuild my front drivers side drive shaft.
the only thing left from the original shaft will be the steel shaft itself and the high temp grey boot from the inside joint.

we will see if they fit and see how easy it is to split the out CV joint off the shaft as i have tried it before and it can be an absolute pain in the backside to get it off.
but i have a CV jint splitter now so hopefully it will be easy.

    Bye for Now!

I'm still waiting on my 2nd joint to arrive to arrive so that I can inspect it against a known correct one and see if they are indeed the same.

My 2nd joint isn't going to arrive until mid September unfortunately, but as soon as I have it I'll cross reference it and post back here

Well it does not look like the part specified above as being the febest part equivalent to the inner joint is wrong or all the ebay adds sellign the this febest part are wrong

Febest, part number 0411EA. has a stub axle on it.

this is an ebay add for the febset part number and it has a stub axle which is wrong
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124112164...pid=1650078478

So someone has got there numbers wrong.

all the ebay adds for the mitsi number in the above post also come up as the wrong part.

    MN171196
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113565654...gAAOSwPXFcP-Dt

i am starting to suspect the part numbers quoted above are not correct. the mitsi number MN171196 or the febest number 0411EA

the time has come for someone to count the splines on the inner cup socket that goes onto the transfer case and gear box and the splines on the shaft itself. that goes into the 3 wheel bearing.

Can @russhowe do the counting of the splines as he has the shafts off the car at present, well he has the replacement shaft ready to go on.

let us know if it is possible for you to check this for use all.

i have counted the splines an spare gear box output shaft outer end and it has 26 splines.
so the socket mating half on the inner cup needs 26 splines.

I am pretty sure the mitsi part numbers for the inner front drive shaft joints are
    passenger LH
    MR336596

    drivers side RH
    MR336597

i think the reason for the different part number is the driver side one has a higher temp rubber for the boot as it sits right above the exhaust pipe. the joint itself is the same on both sides.

We seem to have 2 threads regarding a similar topic here.

    ITS ARRIVED

Counted the gearbox side splines - perfect!!

Measured it against the measurements I took from the shaft Adaxo sent me...

Only 00.2mm discrepancy *at most* on the vernier calipers in every measurement.

I'm calling this a win folks

Part number on the box is "MTIU-N94"
Comes with a boot, grease, boot clamps and a circlip

Furthermore, the shaft itself, going into the "tripod bearing"... I count 30 splines

    Passenger front shaft
