    aircon regas quantity query

Hello, after 6 years of ownership the aircon on my Legnum is now not cooling, so suspect it's leaked out over the lockdown :-( I went to my local garage who offered to recharge it, but then told me they couldn't find the quantity of refrigerant required for the Legnum, as it's a grey import, and not on their list. Any ideas on the correct weight of refrigerant?

It'll be identical to a UKDM V6 Galant, which will be in their system.

    From memory, it's around 650g

When you go to garages, you have to remind them that it's mostly identical to a UK V6 - it's this kind of "it's not in the system, mate" that puts me off most garages, and makes me do work on my car myself!

Think All 8G (JDM - EUDM) are using the same system.

    Refrigerant HFC-134A, 670-710 grams

If you replaced some parts you might need to add some compressor oil as well with SUN PAG 56 (ammount depending on the part you replaced or cleaned)

A good indication of low refrigerant is looking at the sight glass of the filter/dryer if no fluid or foam and bubbles showing in the side glass your refrigerant is low.

is this with the control set to minimum temp? if not it will fairly quickly start mixing to maintain temps and drops fan speed.

if you are stationary then the ac heat soaks a bit under bonnet after a while and needs some road speed for best effect.

possible the drain isn't flowing well and the evap is freezing up too?
