    Forged pistons 6A13TT

    Hey all,

Do you know where we can buy forged pistons for 6A13TT engines. I made an order to IPP for the wiseco pistons and this the mail that i received:

Unfortunately we shut the business down a while back. Just having trouble getting the website taken down. Your order can not be processed and your card has not been charged. Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Thanks and God Bless,
    David DeKerlegand

The parts number is K776M815A but I can't find it anywhere else but here : https://www.importperformanceparts.n...itsubishi.html

    RPW price are very stupid

Have you tried other retailers that offer Wiseco pistons? Maybe they just haven't listed them as they've had no demand, but can source them directly from Wiseco using their existing channels?

hmm that is interesting as my next engine build will be wanting to fit forged pistons and rods.
but this will mean cylinder board machining to oversized pistons and posibly crank bore/journals resized as the standard bearing seem to be getting difficult to get hold of.

    Bye for Now!

    Hi,

If someone could send me OE piston measurments or one OE piston, i can ask quote from custom piston set for 6A13TT. They probably be around 600eur a set + shipping and taxes (100eur/piston) and Made in Russia. Pistons come with Kolbenschmit rings.

But there is one but, they can make from 82,00mm (Original size is 81,00, i guess 1mm overbore is not a problem for 6A13?)

Also i can get custom pistons from JE Pistons, Wiseco and almost all US makers but their prices are 1,5x what russians offer.

I asked about those pistons from finnish wiseco dealer. He said those were made exclusive for IPP and cannot be ordered.
RPW price is 1k€. Its not bad price for full set pistons, rings, locks and fitted pins?

Sorry to resurrect n old post but I am doing a rebuild and bought Prism rods (original rod damaged hence rebuild) so been looking for replacement pistons to go 'floating pin'.

I am aware of Wiseco so enquired (via UK distributor Tegewa) about price and availability...

As a precaution (and if i'm rebuilding, why not?) went for 82mm to allow rebore and tiny capacity increase lol.

    I was sort of expecting £6/700 plus rings, pins, postage etc etc but they came back with this;

    They’d said:

    ASC-05668
    82mm bore size
    8.5:1 compression ratio
    1.145” compression height
    1mm, 1.2mm, 2.8mm ring package
    19mm x 2.500” piston pins
    Full floating
    .075” deep dish

    Price is £279 per piston

    Kind Regards,

Has anyone bought any recently or have any alternative ideas?
I am willing to put some money into it to get a strong 'zero mile' engine built but £1600 PLUS Tax and Postage is removing too much urine even for me!

    Thanks.

Just thought I would point out if you go for an oversized piston from mitsubishi. The engine capacity does not change as the change in piston diameter is compensated for by the position of the wrist pin attachment to the bottom of the over sized piston. This ensures the compression ratio does not change for the engine if you did not compensate for the larger piston then the compression ratio would drop.
Not sure they do that with after market pistons. But I am pretty sure this is what mitsi do with the 0.5mm and 1.0mm over sized piston.

Actually thinking about it they must do. I presume the after market piston manufactures will do this as well if they specify the same compression ratio as standard. Or add material back in to the top of the piston to take up the extra cylinder capacity which is generated by going to the over sized piston.

    Thumbs up

    Hi all,

I finally found a company in the USA that can produce forged pistons for me. The price is still very good $899 for a set of 6.

The pistons will be CNC made with a 4032 alloy.

They are asking for a sample or drawing to start the work.

I'm ready to send the money and share with you all the steps from manufacturing to receiving them.

If everything is ok, everyone will be able to take advantage of this offer.

I just need a drawing or all the information I can get so they can make them...Can you help me?

    Thanks

    Saf

I can supply a standard piston to send them if that is a good idea?
Need a set for planned rebuild so would like to join in on any order... I assume the more ordered the more they will assist?.... just stating the obvious but worth getting them slightly oversize for rebore/matching...

    Hi Saf,
Is that 899 USD including tax and shipping?

Probably not, Tax to the UK is 20% and import duty is about 10%
the shipping will be about 100usd ish
the import agents fee normally £15

You are looking at about 1300 USD delivered to UK.

Which is not a terrible price but with the bad exchange rate at the moment it is just over £1100.

Just putting it in perspective for any UK buyers.
