    Trying to restore a 7G VR-4

    Hello All,

I have owned a 7G Galant VR-4 for 20 years now, but it's been SORN for 10 years. The car still gets started and run around the block once a month but the following faults means I need some advice about where I could take the car to be mechanically restored:
Spongy Brakes (suspected rear brake pipes corroded)
    AWS warning light
    Speedo not working
    CAT 1 Alarm fault

The car is garaged and looks smart but I've no idea where I can get this work done without costing more than the car is worth.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

    Thank you for reading.

It's a tricky question to be honest. Trying to find a specialist that knows a car so rare is not easy!
Spongy brakes could be as simple as old fluid or old flexi pipes. If the hard pipes are heavily corroded to the point they are affecting performance then they will be leaking and your brakes will stop working quickly.
Speedo could be as simple as a kph/mph converter.
The alarm fault is only an insurance worry if the car still works.
