    you might struggle to get the outer CV joint off without a CV joint spliter, it all depends if the snap ring which holds the CV joint in place is being nice to you.


    i have taken a couple of the CV joint off before to clean and repack with grease after a split boot but never had to replace the cv Joint.
    two out of the 2 came off when i camped the shaft in a fixed vice and gave it a sharp blow with a club hammer on the back of the CV joint but the other would not budge. i ended up cracking the inner race of the CV joint when i hit it a bit to hard with the hammer.
    i did try all sorts of soft hammers, wooden, plastic, rubber , leather, copper, deadblow, before resorting to a big club hammer. but i need the weight of the club hammer to remove it.

    i now have a CV joint splitter to do it more gently.

    After reading about your efforts to remove the joint from the shaft, I'd probably go with a small wooden or rubber mallet, and then hit the otherside of the mallet with a club hammer.

    You still get much of the clout of the club hammer but with a little cushioning from the mallet

    ITS ARRIVED

    Counted the gearbox side splines - perfect!!

    Measured it against the measurements I took from the shaft Adaxo sent me...

    Only 00.2mm discrepancy *at most* on the vernier calipers in every measurement.

    I'm calling this a win folks

    Part number on the box is "MTIU-N94"
    Comes with a boot, grease, boot clamps and a circlip

    I started to count the splines for the tripod bearing thingy (is there a proper name for it?

    But it was after midnight, I was tired and couldn't see straight

    But I'm confident it'll be fine. If the splines are different then we can usually easily rebuilt the tripod using a combo of our old and new bits

    where did you get your inner joint from?
    which supplier?
    i have ordered 3 now and every supplier has come back to me 2or 3 days later and said they are not available.
    i think i know what these suppliers are doing, and that is charging 50% more than going direct to febest and as febest is out of stock they are say they are out of stock.
    the ones i tried were ebay sellers.
    i would have paid 50% more if they had them in stock bit it looks like none of them actually carry andy stock of parts and they just place an order with febest when you place an order from them.

    so i am still looking for an inner joint.

    I didnt care as long as I got it.

    i have just ordered one, as it will allow me to fully rebuild the drive shaft when it arrives.

    i might get another one to do the other side.
    but i will wait until febest has it back in stock as there price is only 35 Euros. not sure about the shipping cost.

    I just got a refund notification this part is not in stock.
    It is the correct part, but you can't get hold of it at the moment.

    Have to wait for restock.

    That is 3 refunds over the last week or so.
    So I have tried all the eBay sellers no one can get hold of it.
    They are not stocking the parts they are just buying direct from manufacture for a cheaper price and putting you name as the shipping address.
    Quite a good business model really. You only buy something when someone places an order with you.
    Never use your own money to buy anything, no capital required for start up, just put your markup on the manufactures selling price for all your product.
