    Newbie wanting a legnum

Hi all . I’m new here and looking to join the vr4 family . For years I’ve had Subaru's but always had a soft spot for a legnum . So now I’m on the look for one , so was wondering if anyone had one for sale at the moment .
Also any info on these would be great and what to look out for when purchasing. I’m a paint sprayer by trade so body work is not a huge issue as long as it’s not full of rust .
Many thanks and looking forward to becoming a full member once I’ve got the keys to one 😁
    I’m based in Norwich
And have a budget of £4500

    Welcome to Club VR4.

Buy on condition as rust and poor servicing can kill them. A slightly tappy engine is OK, it'll be the hydraulic tappets. A good flush can help or replace with uprated ones.

Regular oil changes are important, so look for evidence that they've been done. For an auto, check the colour of the ATF, it should be a bright pink colour, if it's brown you'll need to factor in a full flush.

Check the AYC works, a red AYC light should come on and go off at start-up. If you drive it the green AYC bars on the dash will light up if you corner hard. You can check it by just swinging the steering wheel from side to side at low speed to see it activate. The AYC pump can suffer from low pressure when old but an adjustable pressure switch can be bought to help.

    Manuals are very rare

Good luck in your search. Rear arches, front strut towers are the places to look for rust - the front strut towers are renowned for being ropey and a pain in the backside to sort properly.
