Manual to automatic conversion Galant V6 , 1998.

Hi, I would like to share my experience with this rare event. Usually is the opposite way to convert but after I drive my car for 10 years like manual I desire for a change. It's not been a easy task but I'm very glad with the new mod. Manual gbox repair 2 times (every 170tkm) and for 3rd time I said enough. I found for cheap the donor in great shape 2001 glalant v6 fully equipped and auto tiptronic.

Parked them one by the other and start taking of everything from manual . Strip to the bone. Engine/gbox completely with the carrier (iron) , electric installation complete all to the tail gate, ABS pump, steering shaft all computers...
Then the same on the automatic one. When the engine was out I changed the belt kit , water pump... and start to assemble the firs car. First and biggest problem was aluminum engine frame on A/T (face-lift model) . I cut and weld the bigger bolts and seats on the car frame. Then was the time to put the new heart inside. After that everything was smooth.
Whole job was made in one month slightly.
I would never make it without having the whole car for a donor, everything was different except the body.
