    unexpected accelerator cable slack.

Hi guys, my car has been off the road for a couple of months while I have been doing a few jobs. Front turbo repair, filler neck, MAF repair, I also replaced the idle speed servo. Just fired the car up for the first time. Everything seems to be ok so far but the throttle cable is really baggy. It has gone so slack the pedal is only pulling the cable at the very end of travel. There is about 15mm of play at the plenum bracket. It seems strange as I've not touched it. Any ideas why this could be or how and whether I should adjust it? Photo is the pedal end. Does that look normal?

The only adjustment is via the 2x 10mm head bolts on the top of the plenum. It's possible these have worked their way loose, and let the cable get the extra slack, maybe after removing the plenum to change spark plugs.

Thanks. I've not removed those and they're not loose. I'm reluctant to adjust the cable without knowing what's gone wrong.

That's a lot of slack, something has changed to cause that. Has the cable slipped off of something that it should go round? What is the outer sheath of the cable attached to at each end? Not broken anywhere in its length?

All sorted, the cable had just come out of the groove in the throttle body pulley.

That's a relief, an easy fix.
