    Stray Connectors

    Hi guys,

I'm just reassembling a few bits and theres a couple of connectors I don't remember unplugging. They are male and female a go together but that seems pointless any idea what they are? They are both triangular. Just behind the MAF. Thanks.

Also does anybody now the torque values for the large nuts either side of the front strut towers? I cant see them in the front suspension part of the manual.

    Edit: found them. 86Nm

Hey Cheshire, my car has those connectors, I had a quick look but couldn't immediately see what they are associated with. I've been busy but will have a closer look for you when I get some time and some better light in the next few days, if that's any help. Could you post another pic aimed a little lower so I can see the other several connectors which are just beyond the bottom of your pic as I see cut wires on yours and one of mine is connected by a single wire to one of the other bank of connectors. Sorry I won't be able to get photos as I don't have a good enough camera but when I've looked I'll describe in words as best I can.

Thanks Tony, I took my car in for welding yesterday so I can't get another picture yet. Could you post a picture of yours please? Are the two stray connectors on yours plugged into each other?

Popped the bonnet on mine today, and took these couple of photos for you.

    Hopefully this helps!

OK Cheshire, sorry for the delay, some things been going on here. @Confused has posted the above pictures which are really good, I've just had a look at mine and will try to explain in words as I don't have a camera which would be good enough.
The two connectors in his upper photo, mounted on a bracket along with another bigger connector, go down under to the ABS unit. The 3 pin inline (right) and the 3 pin triangular connectors (left) at the top of that pic are both on the wiring loom. The effect of this is that the ABS unit gets connected to two of the wires from the triangular and just one wire from the inline, the other wires from the loom are not connected.
Yours has had the triangular connector from the loom plugged directly into the ABS unit and the others not used. Without a wiring diagram it would be hard to see what the effect of that is, it could be that the connector setups are alternatives which depend on the options fitted to the vehicle; mine is exactly as shown in @Confused's pics. Does your ABS do anything odd that might suggest the connectors are not presently correct?
@Confused those pics are awesome resolution and focus; very well done!
