    Galant 4wd 2.0 turbo build

So after a suggestion from a friend Iv decided to document my galant build.

It started off with my airtrek with a blown transfer case. I coudnt get my hands on a replacement transfer case so bought a whole parts car just for the transfer.

Since I had a running 4g63t I got the notion to buy another galant and swap the 2.0 turbo into it.
I found this beauty of a galant. 2.4 gdi Viento, 4wd and 5 speed auto. Ideal candidate as the 2.4 na is very underpowered.

So far Iv the engine almost ready to remove from the airtrek. All wiring disconnected from the engine. Transfer case has already been removed from the car and gone into my now sold airtrek. Gearbox fluid removed and checked for wave spring fragments. Drives and shafts already out. Top mount intercooler removed as I’ll be going with a front mount. So next step is to hoist it out and put it up on an engine stand. Pull the engine harness and ecu.
Then do the same to the galant.

    Nice!

Should be a hoot. There have been a couple of 4G63T galants in the past, both 2WD and 4WD. All a lot of fun!

So progress has been very slow. Mainly due to the birth of our second child so time is limited. Iv pulled the engine and pained the block as it’s sitting on an engine stand. Iv been gathering parts and still need a few more but getting there. Next job is to do the timing belt and water pump since it’s easy to access with the engine out. Hopefully during the summer I’ll get the engine swapped. I’ll keep ye posted. Still on the hunt for a front mount intercooler as the airtrek had a top mount.4CDE34B9-9A3E-41E9-96AA-52CE5F84FA5E.jpg4CDE34B9-9A3E-41E9-96AA-52CE5F84FA5E.jpg

We tend to use a generic 600x300x76 intercooler as an upgrade on the VR-4, these fit with minor modifications.

Thanks bud, I say I’ll go that size alright. Must get my hands on a whole evo pipework and probably finish the end with a universal kit.
