How can I turn off the annual email reminder that I'm another year closer to death?

In your Profile, you can disable the option for "Receive Email from Administrators" - this should disable the birthday message, but also do not know what else this may disable!
When I uncheck the box, it won't allow me to save changes & suggests I subscribe.

There's another option at the very bottom, which doesn't have one of the two valid choices selected as default:
footer-links.JPG
Choose Disabled from here, and it should allow you to save.
I'll have a look and see if I can set the default for everyone who might not have it already set

I suspect your account can be deactivated. I guess the mods thought you only wanted to stop the alert rather than leave the forum completely.
@Confused can disable the account if you want?
