    Big Brake Group Buy

There's no time like the present so lets get the ball rolling on this one

    Options available:-

    360mm Kit using Evo calipers

    360mm Brembo brake discs
    Evo 6-9 calipers (not included)
    Stainless Steel Braided Brake Hoses
    Bracket and fixing hardware.

I know the disc is a little big, but it's going to be hard to get the caliper to fit on a smaller diamter disc, so sadly this kit will be for those with 18" wheels as I can't see them fitting under 17" wheels

These will significally improve your braking power over the standard 2 pot calipers with 296mm discs

320mm Wilwood brake kit which are speced as follows:-

    320mm brake discs (Evo discs)
Wilwood 4 piston calipers (Alunminium calipers with stainless steel pistons)
    Stainless Steel Braided Brake Hoses
    EBC Yellowstuff pads
    Bracket and fixing hardware

This kit will fit under the 17" evo wheels, and give you excellent braking power.

Both kits will be on par with each other, the main deciding factor will be wheel choice

    Prices:-

The prices will be in bands:-

    1-5 kits

    360mm Plain kit £295
    360mm Grooved kit £325

    Wilwood 320mm Plain kit £600
    Wilwood 320mm Grooved Kit £630

    5+ kits

    360mm Plain kit £265
    360mm Grooved kit £295

    Wilwood 320mm Plain kit £570
    Wilwood 320mm Grooved Kit £595

The groupbuy will end on the 15th of Oct, full payment would need to be made on this date or before. Once the groupbuy has ended kits will be ordered and sent promptly

Postage within the UK is £13 and to Europe would be £32

If you want in, just post below but only if you are truly after a set, if you are then I'll add you onto the list below:-

I'm sure they are both designed for PFL's, but you don't say this anywhere.
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

So the Wilwood kit would bolt straight on to a PFL without FL hub carriers?
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space

    aboo:-

Yep I have made it that way, it seems that facelift owners have alot more choice i.e. the whole Evo range of brakes, so this is a special for pre facelift owners

    Nutter_John:-

Wilwood kit comes with Yellowstuff pads

I have not used yellows but have replaced a set that had been on a car for one week and worn out , I also remember your experience with them as well

    Hi Dan et al,

Is it possible to use Carbotech XP8s with the Wilwood pots?

If so, which ones would fit (if you know)?

Like the others above say, dubious about using Yellow Stuff due to increased wear and operating temps..

I'll find out on other pad options, but I have loads of Wilwood kits on 200SX's and Skylines ranging from 350bhp right up to 600bhp and they don't seem to have issues with Yellows

I think you need to ask yourself whether Yellows for VR4 standard brakes are just bad i.e. because you have yo apply so much pedal power just for them to do something

I had a set of Yellows on and found them ok for braking(no excessive pressure needed) But they were down to the Metal in a Tad over 700miles. That included 17 laps of the Nurburgring and the trip over there. On the 17th lap it was metal on metal. Had no probs with Reds or Blues though..

There was a n issue with the Yellowstuff pads a while back apparently.. Now sorted as new compunds in last year or so are much better..

Had them on two different brake set-ups on the Chevy over he last 10 months with good results on both.

(would go Carbotech/Pagid/Carbon Lorraine if I could afford it though)

Good on You DB for getting a pretty affordable pre facelift kit out there..

I had yellow stuff pads alround fitted 18-24 months ago or so........ they lasted well but the brake dust was quite bad, but they performed excellent once warm.

I have just changed the fronts, they were very low almost to the metal...........

sampsulo, there is no need at all. Just look for any brake kit designed for an evo 4-9

ok I have fads' offer I can't refuse pop up

im gonna gave to sacrifice my evo wheels tho , maybe!

can I ask do you know the height of evo calipers, iv been offered a set of 4 pot brembos from an aston martin there 11" tall so im thinking the 360mm disk kit will fit nicely

would going for face lift hubs help my chances getting them under 17's?

    Personally I still rate Yellows

Ok they may wear quicker than other pads and produce more dust but in exchange that shows they are working

Wilwood kit for the facelifts won't be an issues, as said above it would be the same as the EVO's

    Pugme:-

The height of the Evo caliper is 11", so probably the same style as your Aston one, but the mounting holes will be different so the bracket wouldn't work

Changing to facelift hubs wouldn't help with the kit size, but you could run 320mm discs and Evo calipers then
