    Winter Project FTO VR4

Thought I would introduce myself. I'm just another FTO owner who is just about to start the VR4 conversion. My last project ended up with me having a 265bhp supercharged FTO GPX, whilst the power was nice for a while the thirst for more got me looking towards a VR4 conversion which I am now set on doing. I like to do all the work myself (welding excluded) so it will no doubt be a frustrating project but hopefully the end result will be worth it.

The car is coming off road at the end of this month then the work begins. I put the car away for winter and usually bring it back out in April or May so have set this as the deadline to at least have it to the point where its running and driveable. I'll be needing to buy the necessary gear from you guys and will no doubt need to pick your brains at several points down the line.

The car which has been my project for the last few years ...

I'm hoping the VR4 block will look just as cosy once its all nicely in place. I do the bling thing so will make sure its all polished up along the way.

Looking forward to getting involved with the VR4 crowd .. even though I drive a hairdressers car

    Cheers
    Daz

    Have fun!

I wouldn't take the micky out of a 6A13TT FTO. I once race a certain Richard Batty at Santa Pod in one. I had him off the line, but at some point in third gear he came past me like I was going backwards!!

It looks like you take some pride in your car - long may the love affair continue!

Yeah I loved my fto too but it was in desperate need of rear wheel drive. It would have been a monster if it was!

Nick, yep Rich's car is insane. Now has an Evo engine beating inside it pushing out over 1000bhp

hbkuk1 .. i remember you from the FTOOC. You did a fair bit improving the performance of your car as I remember

FTO's definitely need more power to compliment the way they look. I have had nitrous, a supercharger and a soon to be VR4 engine in mine .. I couldnt have one in standard form any more

Yep, still cyber friends with Richard, although I haven't seen him for a while. The last time I saw the FTO the 6A13 had been tuned to over 600. When I raced him at the pod it was still "relatively" stock - 320 or so. I wouldn't even try now - his drag tyres mean I can't even match his 60 foot times any more!
