So Tim, I'll be getting the bits from Adam & Andy in a moment ( :bananadan ), thought I'd swap the selector cable bushings while they're easy to swap out. I found a few threads suggesting certain skateboard bearings for PFL, but the bits to mine will be off a FL, which uses 2 different sizes for the bushings.. Would you happen to know the dimensions of the bearings I need?

My first step would be to get a dealership (or someone with a MUT) to clear the code. I don't think disconnecting the battery clears SRS codes.

Evo flywheel, this spacer and these longer bolts. None of the factory spacers.

Sorry to revive an old thread but does the spacer replace all 3 factory spacers, or just the one that's on the engine side of the flywheel? Or do you need to use all 3 factory spacers + this one?

Thanks Adam! Would it be part #18 in this picture then? Seems to differ a little bit from the auto one at least. Which parts are you missing from the kit? I'd be interested definitely, as shipping from Aus would be something like 2000 euros..!

Thanks! I have the same list except for the engine mount, I haven't heard of anyone swapping them while doing this project. Is it different somehow? Mine is a FL if that makes a difference :)

So as it turns out, my Legnum will be getting a heart surgery (Knock, knock, knocking on heaven's door) and I figured I might as well swap the transmission while the engine is out anyway. I'm looking for a gearbox with everything else required to complete the swap, thought I might as well post here on the off-chance someone has a kit laying around.. I found one in Australia but the shipping is likely to be astronomical (to Finland).

What Garry said - a tiny crack in the ring can give exactly this. The flashy dash will tell you which wheel is giving the issue assuming it is not something else. Note the error code will suggest the sensor, but the sensors failing are very rare - it is almost always the reluctor ring.

Wouter is talking about towing the mini with his BMW. I'm trying to convince him to tow it there with his VR4! And there may be a box with the word Quaife written on it in his garage....

Nice to know about the mini. It is not mine, but it is an R53 Cooper S. It already has suspension, exhaust, brakes and supercharger pulley upgrade. The owner may or may not have a diff on order. ;) I'm not sure I'm the best person to start a thread, but I'll be registering interest if anyone does.

Looks like a good time was had by all! Makes me want to go next year. Why was the mini being pushed? It's likely I'll be piloting one of those next time I am on track.

I've been looking into this very thread for a while, also spotted a similar one over on ozvr4. For now I'd rather just replace the boots (if it's possible!)

Oh I changed the rocker cover & spark plug gaskets already, but as I didn't have new boots I just stuck the old coil packs on. I might be looking at an engine rebuild due to a different problem so I'm looking at options for replacing the coils or boots as well.

You are likely right. I have a dead coil pack in the garage, so there's one! You'll need to change the rocker cover gaskets to stop it happening again.

I agree with Tim. Manual boxes are fetching a couple of grand now and rebuilding yours is likely to be cheaper or at least give you a better box. There is a guy on the lancer register called Clive w and he is widely considered to be the best person in the country to rebuild these boxes.

Unfortunate! I'm no expert but I don't think there are any other gearboxes that fit the VR-4, at least directly. The evo gearboxes are very similar but the bolt mounting holes don't line up exactly. Manual gearboxes are hard to find, there are some in Russia but with the current situation it's highly likely impossible to buy them. Auto gearboxes shouldn't be as hard to find, if you're willing to just swap to another one instead of a manual. I don't know if you've driven on the auto box yet...

    HI

I was told on Facebook to turn to you.

Now I'm looking for an adapter plate for the legnum to drive the Evo Clutch. Do you know where I can get them from, including the screws, etc.?

    I thank you

    greeting

    Alex

Hi Nick. Just need to pick your brains about auto box oil. Had my Legnum 6 years now. Donít know how old gearbox oil was when bought her but was clean. Iíve done 30k miles since and only changed trans filter every 10k. Am doing major MAJOR service right now. Rebuilding both turbos, cambelt and water pump, new rad and intercooler, wheel bearings, plugs, brake lines, fluids etc including filters. Box oil is now bit dirty so looking to change it. Was going to go fully synthetic but donít know if will suit the box. Will need to drain torque converter anyway as donít want to cut corners so have you any recommendations?
    Cheers
    Patrick

Hey, just wondering if youíre still making/selling the adapters to use Evo clutches on the vr4 galants. Me and my friend have a 97 galant vr4 and I was wondering if I could get my hands on one of those.

So finally itís the lash adjusters to source. I have read a lot about how much of an improvement the 3mm holes are compared to the standard 1mm. There seem to be a lot for sale for the 6A13TT that clearly state that they have the improved 3mm holes.

Do you or anyone you know have any information regarding if there is a
MD151382 / MD377560 version that has the upgraded 3mm holes. I imagine that it would be worth having those in the long run if they exist!

    Thanks
    J

I don't know about sourcing in NZ, but in the UK you could do worse than pri racing.
Remember that different versions of the same engine may need different lashers. The V6-24 and the VR4 use different versions, for example. (6A13 and 6A13TT)

Hi Nick. I read one of your old comments and I was wondering if you could help me regarding lash adjusters for the 6A13 V6 sport not the 6A13TT?

I believe the lash adjuster part numbers for the 6A13TT are
    MD171130
    MD359419
    MD377239

Like you mentioned the V6 sport lash adjuster part numbers are different. They are
    MD151382
    MD377560

I have sourced the rocker covers gaskets which appear to look the same as the 6A13TT but have a different code. Same with the cylinder head washers that have a different number to the 6A13TT and finally the spark plug seals which share the same code as the TT.
