Oh where, oh where did my 15kW go....?

I have a question/idea, it may be a extremely stupid, but please bare with me. This would concern all the tiptronic pre-facelift model owners.

Because Mitsubishi were SOFT and reduced the power output to 191kW@fw on the pre-facelift model tiptronics, and then increased to 206kW@fw for the facelifts, does that mean if one was to get their hands on a facelift model factory ECU, one could expect to get back the power that was STOLEN from ones ride?

(Consult guiness book of records to see if that was the longest sentence ever.....

I understand that there are multiple (is it 3) onboard computers. If this would work, does anyone know which one/s would need to be replaced?

    Chur,

    Rich

I don't want to argue, but after an engine swap (blown my original '97 280bhp manual engine... swapped it with '97 260 auto model engine) I noticed a slight drop in stock boost levels: from 0,61~0,63 to 0,51~0,53... That could easily account for 20 hp loss and can only relate to different wastegate actuators spring strength.
Just think about it, how would ECU control amount of power your engine can produce? It can't lower boost... so the only way to get there is - get those fuel maps even richer and retard timing... why would they want to do that if you can just replace two springs?

So changing the spring on the wastegate would do it then?

    Cheers guys!
