    Dyno day results

I've got a video as well if anyone is keen to host it for me

My car is 100% stock, as you can see in the photo's though there will be a second exhaust soon. This sets the standard for my car, I will hopefully have another graph when I have the exhaust and headers done.

hah yeah, they did a good job

My plan will be to dyno with headers and exhaust done, then another dyno after I get some more work sorted out, I intend to replace all the tubing from air filter to throttle body, and get a new intercooler at the same time.

Notice how at about 100kph the boost increases, and you can see a definate climb in engine power? That is quite nice, but what annoys me is the drop in boost between 70 and 95kph. This drop is from about 3300rpm to 4300rpm.

There is another drop in boost after 5500rpm, I wonder what my power output would be if I could hold the boost a bit better....hopefully the new exhaust and header setup will solve this problem

There good figures from a stock car

I take it there WHP. It shows peak PSi at 10.2.. Stock is around 6.5psi i think.. Maybe you have a mod you don't know about..

Yeah, power at the wheels. I had always beleived stock was around .6-.7 bar, which is about 9-10psi. I highly doubt it has any mods at all, everything in the engine bay is 100% stock, there are no boost controllers or anything at all.

good power 206bhp Yeah stock on face lift is 0.7 bar = 10.1 psi. Time to get an after market boost controller and hold 10psi all the way or even 13psi

I intend to do all the tubing and stuff first, then I'm aiming straight for 15psi, but that is a long way away at this stage.

Paul, can you remind me how much power you had at the wheels? I think it was about 220hp

I had 204bhp atw, I was running 13psi but could only hold 10psi at 6500prm that was where I made most power.

ABIM, I'll be down seeing Lance this week, I promise! BTW, do you have your chart from Torque Performance still, I'd be interested to see it.

Also, now that you've got your problem sorted, do you think you'll be back to normal power levels?

Looking at this I still think there is a different ecu map in the post 97 cars.

Brad you are making the same power as me at the same boost level but I have a straight through exhaust, de-cat and mushroom air filter that is got to be worth 15 bhp

You also seem to make your max power at around 6k instead of my 6500rpm

AllBeItMine, you say you make 20kw = 26bhp less, I see you have a 97 car like me not sure what boost you are running.

I know it is not very scientific as we use different rollers and are on opposite sides of the world etc but may still be worth the newer ecu for me

ABIM was having big issues with his BOV at one point causing him to loose boost, so that might be it. I beleive I was making max power at about 5400rpm, the speed was 118kph, which means with my auto gearbox I was at about 5400rpm. They stopped the test at about 6200rpm. I will get them to take it to 7000rpm next time.

The only reall answer might be for you to get a rolling road test done with your current ecu, then replace it with a new one, and then see what the difference is.
