wouldnt it be just as cheap to buy a VR4 as doing this?
DRIFTING is pushin a car against its intended design, then playing with the LAWS OF PHYSICS
From what other people have said, looking for a VR-4 in the US is like looking for a virgin in a brothel
the only vr-4 (2002) that i found was half of the car http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-M...73442556QQrdZ1
i dont think the import VR-4's to the us any more. i think they stopped in '93
I thought there where some posts in this forum about someone who has already or currently is doing this.
You may want to try talking to Clay on www.galantspeed.comOriginally Posted by 02Mitsu

You'd be stripping it so it wouldn't need any US MOT/SVA type testing, it'd just be a big pile of spares - some auctions do a knock-down service anyway from reading their websites.
The price of bits on their own would be frightening - a full spares car might make the most economic sense - just something like the wiring loom or part of the plumbing would cost a fortune?
Left hand drive might not be possible without some serious alterations under the bonnet - the LHS is the gearbox/drive side - doesn't look like there's much room in there for steering joints and stuff.
Best of luck! Don't forget the pics as you go along
Check the floor pan, I seem to remember it's different to accomodate the transfer box and on US galants there may be an issue with the front hubs as the suspesion is different to the JDM/european set up
Talk to Marcel about LHD conversion. Talk to Mante about 8th Gen VR4's in the states.
I would agree - buy a full VR4 from auction in Japan and import that for parts.
The transmission tunnel is bigger on the VR4 than the FWD V6 to accommodate the transmission! I don't remember what Marcel did about that.
Mante has an 8G VR4 in the states, I believe, but I'm not too sure about where the steering wheel is or how he came to have it. He has done a lot of work on the car, but following a difference of opinion recently, I'm not sure if he still hangs around here or not.
How much is a good price to spend on a 8th gen vr-4?
I just love the way all of th newer vr-4 Galant's and Legnum's look. the thing i want most is the TT v6 and awd!
You would be getting back $2000 just by selling the heads, tails, grill, chrome handles, mirrors, front bumper, flares (if any), tweeter holder, and badges

There are always some vr-4's on there, at the moment there is a Legnum VR-4 which looks quite good.
