For my car not me before you cheeky beggars get started!

I am struggling to get any more weight out of the car for the weekend - any ideas?

    Helium baloons...

Put the standard brakes back on.

Put a smaller steering wheel on.

Employ me as your driver (with my fearsome 8 stone bulk!)

i suppose obvious stuff - no spare, load cover, any trim that can be unscrewed/ bolted (and easily put back on), engine cover, rear seats, passanger seat, stereo equip, door trims.....

how far do you want to take it? as far as Derek - or is that too far?

    Standard brakes are heavier!

I already have a standby driver if required.

No idea how easy/difficult it is to do, but how about the tailgate itself......must weigh quite a bit.....? Would it affect handling or aerodynamics though ?

One weight saving mod that seems to have paid off is to use nitrous jets with bigger holes in them.......saved ozs but gained big HP!

How easy is it to remove the plastics from inside (not around) the wheel arches? Not sure they would make a big difference anyway.

Sound proofing including the carpets and mats (I think the sound proofing under the bonnet might also provide some degree of fire protection? might be called for if you've done that much to the VR4)

    Remove seatbelts - install harnesses.

    Remove glass - install netting.

You're a stong fella - so you can get rid of the headrest on the drivers seat (I guess you'll have removed the passengers seat).

Drill big holes in all panels that you can't remove

Cut off the roof (convertible VR4)

Take out the stereo, speakers, wiper motors, and all other unnecessary electronics

Don't forget to take all those J-Tuners out of the boot - you know - the ones you've autographed to hand out your fans.
