unhook the AYC... unless you have a standard rear diff, you cant get rid of that but you might be able to take the pump and stuff out. I wouldn't expect AYC to be much help in a straight line.

Daft as it sounds, it is! AYC doesn't just help round corners. The torque transfer capability of the rear diff helps in less than perfect launch conditions.
A drag strip is probably as ideal as you get though yes?Originally Posted by Kieran

Seriously ditch whatever you can. Every ounce will help --- even those inner wheel arch liners.

Do it in the nude That should get rid of a few pound in jeans and jumpers OR if you feel somewhat exposed I can get you one of Pauls uber light paint overalls - problem being they don't have much support in them if you know what I mean and there will be women and small children about
I haven't done much in the way of drag racing, so i'm just guessing,
but do you need side skirts when going down the track?
and, does the strut brace do anything in a straight line?
Also, it doesn't weigh much, but you could take out the glovebox door?
Maybe you could pop out the clock, and unplug it?
or take the valve covers off the tyres, must weigh something ...
I realise most of these things weigh about as much as a decent hamburger, but it sounds like you've had a good go at it already. I'll be keen to hear how it all works out. (and if you can out it back together again )
All I can suggest are the electric window motors, if u havent already removed them. You are leaving your doors on arent you? Also are you able to weigh your car once you have stripped it so we know how much weight the car has lost.
What about 1 or 2 of the 5 wheel nuts from each wheel or is that nuts?

So how much weight have you actually saved so far? 50kg's?
Have you removed the strut bar? What about running on lighter 15" tyres? They will have a smaller radius, and will let you accerlate a little quicker due to this, as well as they will be a little lighter.
You could also remove the back half of the center console, where the cup holders and stuff are.
Lastly have you tried starving youself?

My estimates for weight loss are between 170kgs and 240kgs Thats over and above the normal interior strip that I perform.
what about your towing assembly? you seem to have the only vr-4 in the world with a towbar
16kgs in the garage!Originally Posted by bradc
Now I am not saying that I am super strong, but I can do this:
A close up reveals a 1 finger lift
so whats that mean?
are they the original doors or fibreglass or i dunno, my idea of weightloss is to boot the wife out the car
