Question **HELP - Engine Stalls on Start-up**

Drove to Gym tonight, sounded like engine tried to stall on the driveway going out in Reverse. Didnt, and seemed fine all the way to Gym.

come out after Gym, jump in, turn on, engine fires up okay, needle comes down to where idle would be, raises slightly then engine dies.

On repeated starts it keeps doing this. Trying to blip the throttle keeps the engine alive, but there is no smooth revving. Its like theres a huge great hole in the rev range (sounds weird I know).

Anyway, lift off the gas, engine dies. Battery is fine, no difference whether is in/out of drive/tip (its an auto 1997).

Disconnecting the battery makes no difference either, problem still exists. Car undrivable, had to get a truck to take me home.

    Help anyone?

(Oh yes and the towtruck guy scraped the front spoiler - git!)

Sounds like you are leaking air - check all your boost hoses and as Ritch says check your BOV

It was one of the small black relay 'boxes' at the rear of the engine bay.

    All sorted.
