i will also need some tools if i cant scrounge them ill have to buy the
i will also try and do a write up on it so others can have a go at it as
it seems to be a common problem.

2 axle stands(yes)3 is best. two for car 1 for prop shaft
3 Jack(yes)one that will lift high the 1.5 tone one i bought would have done but wouters 3t was better

    6 ball joint splitter(yes)don't need

Richy m'boy, you're looking at 7 hours to get that thing in and out, even if you know what you're doing, and I understand it's a bit of a bugger!

I may be able to help - depends on the wife letting me out to play after working the last two w/ends!

    I have jack/axel stands/sockets/pry bar.

Make plans for alternative transport the following week though...!

I'll speak to the boss at some point if it looks like you're going to have enough people. Mo is a good man to speak to - he'll be able to tell you of any pitfalls...

Being as I'm so close then it'd be rude to not turn up and lend moral support - depends on work commitments though, I might be "at it" all next weekend after taking the last few days off.

Not sure I'd be much help teknic-amilly, but I'm pretty good at eating bacon butties and pointing at things

Actually no....I could be like the mechanic's caddy passing over tools and things! Oh whatever...I'm sure you could find a use for me

If the box is fine, just spend a tenner on the seal.
    SORRY Derrick read this wrong.

If I can make it down I will. we need to do a full & comprehensive write up & piccy taking !
If it can be done relativley painlessly, then we can save other members £600 !!

Barry, Wouter and Zedy had to take the engine out to get the manual box back on after doing the clutch - here's hoping the autobox is a touch easier

i think if i remember rightly they had to do this because barry was changing his clutch for a uprated clutch.

Zedy and I took a auto box and engine out of a V6 last night!! it took 2 hours!

Admitatly we had the help of an angle grinder and lots of disks

The Auto box weighs more than the manual, but if all you are doing is replacing a seal, then it should be easy enough. You won't even need to drop the engine like Barry, Zedy and I needed to.

If you want help send me your address!
