    Bang!

    Not a happy chappy

Got rear-ended tonight by a Pug 205 - Car drives but at Mitsi prices even my '52' may not make it through the insurance co's rituals. Worse thing is that Pug may have had false plates (or I was such a numpty I wrote the wrong number down.....).

Were you in the car, are you/passengers ok ?

Seems to me that VR4's are on the receiving end more often than the giving. Bad luck.

If it's that bad, then could the pug drive away? If not then someone must have towed it.

Towed away (wasn't there when I went back). Spent the evening at police stations trying to get a name "can't be giving that information out Sir - leave it to the insurance company" - At least the address he gave exists (dodgy part of Reading). No passengers - though he had a couple of guys who got quite aggressive. I'm pi$$ed at myself for potentially making a mistake with the licence plate. Maybe the '666' plate isn't such a smart idea

Have to say it's not only the engine that's bullet-proof - He hit me between 20 & 30 mph and the VR4 is very driveable (boot, recently painted valance and rear wings a bit shabby)

Thumbs down So sorry ro hear it.

Might seem a bit over cautious but you should get yourself a once over either at A&E or from your doctor. I've been punted off my motorbikes on a couple of occassions and it's amazing the aches and pains that can be masked by a drop of adrenaline.

Hope everything sorts itself out. Good luck and take care.

Unlucky Nev, glad to see you aren't hurt!!

No, you're not fine, your neck hurts doesn't it!!

I know a guy who rearended a car - completely his fault - claim eventually comes through with four claims for whiplash from the occupants of the car he hit. Strange thing is there was only two people in the car
I had 'situational vehicle anxiety' from an accident that wasn't my fault
but the cheque kind of numbed the pain

If the accident's not your fault, personally I'd have been to my GP already for some painkillers - if there's a chance your car will be scrapped and undervalued on the payout from the insurance, I'd play the same game everybody else does, or you WILL lose out somewhere along the line.

Glad to hear there's no real injuries and hopefully the car'll be repairable

If you specify that your happy for it to be repaired using 2nd had parts then it shouldn`t get written off. Thats what a lot of the FTO people have to do as they are so cheap now alot would otherwise be written off.

sorry to hear that dude ....

joking aside if u feel any twinging pain go to teh doctor. iv been involved in 3 accidents involving collisions and at the time for each i was fine. even for weeks after but now years on i have the back of a 50 year old.

the pain might not be there now but go to the doctor and get it monitored and recorded.

they always say whiplash can come on some months after the accident.
    VR4s, interesting aint they .....
