The stupid fans aren't coming on.

The car is getting REALLY hot but the temp gauge isn't moving from the normal place

So the temp gauge must measure the temp from a different place. The fans work fine as they come on before the car starts.

Temp gauge measures water temp I think. which means you either don't have water flowing, or your engine internal temp is actually ok.

I am having the same issue with my galant, though for different reasons I suspect.
The test is to let the car idle and see if the fans come on after reaching running temp, or if the water boils over into the expansion bottle first. Obviously if it boils, turn the car off.

you have a lot of stuff wrapped with heat wrap? I wonder how this affects the temperature of the block...

hey dude - what happened today?

i got my powersteering sorted. custom fabricated a bracket to hold the tensioner.

but now i dont have an alternator :-(

any chance i could grab my tools and that pulley off you tommorrow?

ahhh - haha - i was in the new market pitstop.

saw lance last night. pretty sure you dropped off the wrong one.

its the alternator tensioner pulley i was after - not anything to do with the cam belt.

what are the chances i could get that off you early next week?

its the alternator belt. the one you can see on the outside of the engine

driven from that big pulley we took off your engine with the slide hammer.s
