    Engine cover is a must!

Hi, my car doesnt have an engine cover, I think it has perished due to age and became brittle.

However, when looking into the engine bay I noticed a lot of dry leaves and grass deep in the middle section between the cylinder heads.

Spent 2 hours yesterday pulling them out using a wire and a strong vacuum and ended up with 2 big fistfuls of dry leaves, grass and a small plastic bag.

Now I realize the engine cover blocks stuff from getting into that dead space.

    Just thought I'd share.

Are you driving off road, lol.

The only bits that collect in my engine area are from the wiring loom, is that stupid corrugated plastic stuff that has gone so brittle with the heat under the bonnet it just crumbles at the slightest touch.
I took the hit and crumbled all if it that was going to crumble in one go and tried to clean it all up once only.

    Bye for Now!

yep mine was also stuffed with crumbled electrical insulation, you would think they would have used an insulator unaffected by heat, but having said that the engine cover itself is made from plastic that goes brittle after a while exposed to the temperature.
