Spots on facelift model model aren't dual as such

I wasn't even gonna mention it cause I assumed people knew but after reading some posts and seeing quite a few people refering to them as dual spots I thought I'd post this and see who knew. When I turned on my spot lights only the inner 2 came on, the outer one on each side wasn't working I tried every spot light switch I could find and assumed they either didn't work or were for show, until ghanda enlightened me the other day, at night turn on your lights, stick on an indicator and the outer spot on that side will turn on shooting a beam out at 55 degrees or so to the side to light up where you're turning into! How funky is that! Anyone else know this?

This should pair up with my ratchet seatbelts!!!

But if they're on with the fogs isn't that blinding as they shoot out to the side? Although quite good as it would light up quite a bit of the road.

No not really and good if your driving down unlit roads / lanes at night

Hmm... I do actually quite like that idea, I can't imagine it was hard to wire up though?

It won't be hard to light up. And they are only bayonet bulbs, so not that bright. I like them the way they are!

Not being a VR-4 owner myself, I have always wondered how these work in practice.... I was aware that they were not fog lights but 'direction lights' but do they come on all the time?

I can see the point if you are turning into a dark side street etc, but do they come on when changing lanes on the motorway? - I assume that all Galant drivers don't have BMW indicatoritus!!

Do they come on when Hazzrd Warning lights are on??

    Just curious..........

They come on at all speeds - the only criteria are as stated above, you need lights on and then indicate. I guess it looks daft on a motorway, but in the countryside at a T junction they are invaluable!

Mine are wired up as indicators - 4 LED cluster indicators up front does look a little mean
