Customs and Vat work like this :-
Add purchase cost to the shipping cost then add duty (budget for 10%)
then onto this total add the Vat. Then there may be a small fee for handling / clearance which varies from shipper to shipper. Also remember that you wont get the advertised exchange rate for £ to $. Everyone ; but everyone wants a cut here. Real crude overall figure is simply to change the $ to £ you wont be that far out.
If its of any help I may , just may be able to loose the box in the middle of my next Amsoil shipment or in the worst case bring them over at nil shipping cost (but if declared which all really upstanding people would do and to their full value of course Sir, then Customs would estimate shipping and add duty and Vat accordingly) but you still escape the carriage and handling charges.
Next order is likely to be 2 - 3 months time as we have our next container at the docks in Chicago now.
If you have a problem with getting Amsoil just contact me on 07949 944523 email don@performanceoilsltd.co.uk or web at http://www.performanceoilsltd.co.uk/

Don, thank you very much! Good info and a generous offer.

The AMSOIL has seriously reduced my ticking, but my cars ticking was so bad even the wonder-fluid can't cure it completely!

    BUMP!

Okay, guys. The supplier is able to get the factory to do a production run of 240, but we have only got a commitment for 168. Is there anyone else out there who wants a set? Shall I ask him how much more it will be if we only buy 168 of the 240? If price increases pro-rata then this becomes as expensive as Camskill.

That "rattle" can show up as knocking to ECU... so called "phantom knock"... it will retard timing in an attempt to save your otherwise perfectly healthy engine... you will loose a lot of power in HP and TQ... so save up on Dyno runs - first get the "rattle" thing fixed.

    Quoted from 3si:

"Your car STILL has lifter tick.

So of course, FAKE KNOCK LIKE CRAZY.

We put a scanmaster on your car to make tuning easier...

Here's some examples of the fake knock:

Knock in 1st gear @ 1.1-1.2 bar on race gas. 1st gear should be knock free unless your tune is ****ED. Your o2's are .96v or so @ WOT.

Knock when cruising at 2000 rpm from time to time as high as 10 counts.

Regular 2 counts + of knock encountered regularly during normal cruising.

20+ counts at high boost (1.59 bar) at relatively high RPM's."

Makes sense, Val. Surely some of you have noticed that when the adjusters are tapping, the engine's idle also goes a bit lumpy?

Or is it just my car?!
