Never seen the Falken tyres site before - good find!! £20 delivery for four tyres, so 235/45/17 94W FK451's are £240 for four at my door! Sounds good to me!

Well Done. If you are like me, you know how the car feels. i.e. you are one with the car. If you change something as important as your tyres, you may need to adjust your driving style.Originally Posted by Spirit

Indeed, and I am still set on putting F1's back on, probably after RT4
& jolly nice they are too
aside from being round, black & with a good-looking/ 'means business' kind of tread pattern, much quiter than the 512s that were on before. The noise that does get through is notably softer, so its less intrusive.
+ of course it now goes round corners - though it's hardly fair to compare brand new 452s with the 'worn at the edges to the end of their life' 512s.
£280, fitted & alignment checked, by my trusted local shop.
Next up, ATF flush & amsoil to try to cure the occasional box of neutrals I get when (not) pulling away from junctions. Current ATF is mud-coloured

I've never tried Falkens but have had GSD3s, Kumho Ecsta 712s (came with the car) and michelin pilot sport 2s.
The michelin pilot sport 2s are by far and away better in the wet or dry to any other tyre I've ever driven a car with. I'm sure there's better out there but I've yet to try them. Turn in is good, ride is good, wear is good and grip is good and predictable. High speed cornering is incredibly stable (wet or dry).
They make the GSD3s seem like tyres for kids toys (and I like the GSD3s - got them on both of my celica GT4s). I got all 4 for about £400 from Costco when they were doing a 20% off or £100 cashback deal or similar. Edited to say: The tyres are 225/40 x 18.
With performance like this it's going to take something really special to make me ever buy anything different from now on.
Love them.
Cheers,
Calum
