Anyone know what the biggest vehicle is I can drive on a standard UK Car Licence?
Many years ago i'm sure you could hire a 7.5 tonne truck on a standard licence, but i'm pretty sure that has changed, any advice?

The best things in life have to be lubricated
Yes what you say is correct. Not sure what the limit is since the change, but the figure 3500 kg's springs to mind. Sure you could find the info on DVLC site or summit?
Yeah, cheers Andy - that means looking and i'm a lazy sod most of the time.
Here ya go ya lazy sod:
Just taken from a van hire site:
If you were issued your driving license before the 1st of January 1997 you should be entitled to drive any vehicle up to 7.5tonne in Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). If you were issued your license after 1st of January 1997 then you will be entitled to drive any vehicle up to 3.5Tonne GVW. this includes vehicles such as the Luton stlye vans which are commonly used for house moves.
