    Newera Imports (Hove)

Hi has anyone had any dealings with Newera Imports, office based in Hove (Brighton) They don't appear to have a show room but have heard good rumblings about them. Bloke on the phone seemed amicable and up front.

Leads me onto the other question of importing a Legnum direct. What are the pros and cons?Have done a fare amount of research but would like a first person objective opinion. Are there any companies that seem to be really good? Am thinking about contacting 'skylinesrus' 's sister company seaford as they seem to have a good track record. What do you reckon?

Probably posted in the wrong place too...... ooh heck

    Cheers all

Do a search on Newera, I rate them quite highly, although I've never had dealings with them, I get a good feeling from their stock and from what i've heard about them.

You can ask them to look for a specific car, tell them your budget and what you'r looking for and their man miguel will go searching.

Again, never dealt with them, but opinions have lead me to believe that they are a bunch of genuine people selling the best cars they can source. Those two points mean that they are not cheap though!

My Skyline came via Newera!!!!!! you cant really go wrong with them. they kept me up to date with the import, helped me transfer my money to Japan (nice of them!) and i only had one moan of them as they charged me £200 for something they should have paid for......but in the whole scheme of things im happy and the car hasnt skipped a beat. They have had a few Leggies and can source to order.......give them a go.

    Cool excellent...

My Legnum came from Newera: aside from 1 broken air vent (£8 part from LegnumBreaker on here) the car was as described & is pretty perfect. & got through its first 4500 miles & service without any extra spend.

Miguel has a deserved reputation for picking out good cars, and rang me several times to keep me up to date on things, even once the car was in the UK (& he's in Tokyo.)

    Newera is actually 3 specialist companies;
Miguel in Tokyo, who handles the sourcing, a company that handles money & warranty (& got my 12 month warranty extended to 36 months), and a third which does the preparation work. Which seems to work.

If you believe that buying the best possible car, for a little more, will save you money, then Newera's got the kind of car you're after.

Examples of the Legnums (& other Mitsis) are mainly on page 6 & 7 of their website

Importing your own VR4 bit long-winded, but some info in there.

    Question Algys in Cyprus

Befre I bought my Leggie, I had a long look at Algys in Cyprus.

They SVA your import in Cyprus, which means that the duties are paid on the ex-Japan price of the car, not the landed & tested UK price.

Which sounds like a good idea, since the SVA test is just a pain barrier we have to cross - it doesn't add anyting to the value of your car.

You just need somebody in Japan to find you a really good one in the first place.
