can someone tell me the auto fluid change intervals on a 00' Galant V6, had a look in the manual but it doesnt say?

check/top up every 9k, change fluid and filter at 54k

Although if you search the forum there are many tales of Mitsu dealers only doing half a job when they do it though.....

The only thing to add to that is that I would be surprised if the ATF lasts 54,000 miles. Make sure you do check regularly - and search on here for what to look for with ATF condition and such.

and use AMsoil atf - look for posts on amsoil and you'll find some of the VR4 guys have found a massive improvement on their auto boxes using amsoil

Check the colour of the fluid, if its red its alive , if brown change it , if black sell the car quick (but not here!) The correct fluid for the box is Mitubishi SPII/III it appears to be as rare to have it used as those who do have it it pump out the system and fully replace it. Loads of article on it and trip boxes in the forum just go searching about. Better still join the club and save that amount on your next oil change.

Certainly it seems that the ATF doesn't hold up to mitsu's suggested intervals (although Amsoil might). The dealer I had do mine screwed it up completely (or at least charged me £100 for not achieving very much at all). Get it done properly with amsoil, and you won't have to worry anymore.
