What is the general feeling about taking our VR-4s to non specialist mechanics? Is it a bad idea because they're too complicated?
In a prior German car owning life, I used to take my BMW E39 540i, which was a pretty top spec performance car to the nearby Ford Dealer for oil changes, WOFs and even the odd electrical system repair. It was cheaper than the BMW dealer and very convenient to where I lived. I seemed to get quite good service. I'd reset the service lights myself with a wire coat hanger.
