    Timing belt change!!!

    due a timing belt soon, so thought i would phone mitsi for a quote as my normal mechanic is a really busy these days. so the belt, (balance shaft i think its called)?? fitting and vat 216 quid. wot you guys think of this price? thought it was a bit steep but never had a timing belt done from a main dealer??

    That's not bad at all for a main dealer.... Just verify the car though - I wasn't aware that the 4G63 in our cars had balancer shafts.... I know some other variants of the 4G63 do, but I didn't think that one did.

    Another thought - does this price include a new tensioner and idler pulley?

    when i phoned they asked me for my regy it brings up all my details. price was for belt, balance shaft, fitting and vat, im sure that was all. wot does the balance shaft do anyway?

    it helps the car walk the tight rope , and helps it ride a bike with no stabilisers as well

    no seriously it creates opposing vibrations to those the engine produce thus making the engine smoother
